Welcome to the Texas Nodal Market Implementation website. This site contains detailed information about the Nodal Program’s progress and its various projects. The Nodal Programs implementation is expected to improve the market’s price signals, identify and assign congestion costs more efficiently, and create generation operating efficiencies.

Nodal Readiness Center

Nodal Real-Time Market trials began a six-month period of Real-Time Market executions and LMP postings on the Nodal MIS (portal) for market transparency to the accuracy and stability of the Nodal Real-Time Market.

Day-Ahead and Adjustment Period market trial activities are to begin April 1, including Day-Ahead Market execution and posting of Day-Ahead results and prices for Energy and Ancillary Services, followed by testing of the Reliability Unit Commitment processes. Late-April activities will also include initial Settlements testing for Day-Ahead and Real-Time Markets.

Congestion Revenue Rights auctions are being executed on a monthly basis, including allocations, auction awards, bilateral trading and production of CRR Auction Invoices.

Nodal Outage Scheduler testing is underway for TSPs and QSEs with resources. After qualifications complete March 31, MPs are asked to periodically, on a voluntary basis, submit new outages and/or update existing outages in as much as they mirror current, real zonal outages.

For more information on nodal market trials sequences please refer to the 2010 Market Trials Roadmap posted on the Readiness Center which provides the sequence and milestones for market activities leading up to Nodal Go-Live (December 1, 2010).
