BOD June 19 Meeting Update - Nodal Highlights

During the June 19 meeting of the ERCOT Board of Directors (BOD), Nodal Program Director Jerry Sullivan presented a comprehensive overview including program status, program change control, market readiness, and nodal spending.

The presentation included the following highlights:

  • The program remains at overall amber status with scope/quality improving following recent change control baseline
  • The program remains focused on a 12/01/2008 delivery date, sequenced into four major market trials

      • Inform market of readiness declarations
      • Motivational tool for market as a whole
    • Characteristics of readiness metrics
      • Easy to understand - linked to Transition Plan where possible
      • Easy to calculate - simple roll-up and grading rules
      • Easy to communicate - red, amber, green
      • Incorporates market participant self reporting and ERCOT observability
    • Timing of readiness metrics
      • Progressive measurement through the readiness sequence
      • Forwarding looking, including lead indicators
