| Description: |
This Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) increases the time window from one minute to 30 minutes for requiring entries of equipment outages in the Outage Scheduler. |
| Reason: |
Current Nodal Protocol language would increase the number of scheduled Outages by over 20% by requiring the entry of all supplemental devices that must be operated to switch transformers (main power, standby, autotransformer and distribution Load), generators, and transmission lines in and out of service, into the ERCOT Outage Scheduler. This increase would place a burden on and add complexity and possible confusion for the following (1) TSPs and Resources who enter Outages; (2) ERCOT Outage Coordinators who must study and approve all Outages; and (3) Real-Time Operators who must monitor and enter actual Outage times. There will also be additional impacts on the Congestion Revenue Right (CRR) process.
This NPRR would significantly reduce the additional number of required Outage entries and will reduce the increased complexity in the Outage scheduling process for all Entities. |
