Nodal Registration and Qualification
Market participants must complete a series of registration and qualification steps in order to participate in the nodal market. The level of effort required for a company depends on the roles in which it functions within ERCOT. Documents for registration and qualification can be found on the Registration and Qualification
section on ERCOT.com.
Registration
To see an overview of an entity's registration steps in the nodal market, visit Nodal Registration and Qualification Activities.
Registration documents and instructions for the following entities may be found on ERCOT.com:
- Congestion Revenue Rights Account Holders

- Load Serving Entities

- Qualified Scheduling Entities

- Resource Entities

- Transmission Service Providers and Distribution Service Providers

Qualification
Both new and existing market participants are required to participate in qualification activities. For an overview of each entity's qualification steps, visit Nodal Registration and Qualification Activities.
Extensive testing between market participants and ERCOT will also be required during the implementation of nodal through all the early delivery system (EDS) sequences (1-4); during the next weeks and months, visit EDS sections to learn more about the necessary functional qualification activities as ERCOT begins to ramp up the nodal applications: EDS 1 (Data and Telemetry), EDS 2 (State Estimator and Real-Time Security Analysis), EDS 3 (Real-Time Market) and EDS 4 (Day-Ahead Market).
