Basic Training Program 2x2
The Basic Training Program, a four-day course, provides a market design overview covering the operations of qualified scheduling entities (QSEs), transmission service providers (TSPs) and ERCOT in day-ahead operations, the adjustment period and the operating period.
This course also includes an introduction to abnormal/emergency operations and the management functions of ERCOT in the nodal market. It describes the basics of most major requirements for QSEs and TSPs to conduct business with ERCOT.
Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to identify the basic requirements needed to conduct business in the Texas nodal market. Specifically they will be able to identify the timelines, purposes, inputs, and outputs for each major component of the Texas nodal market.
This course is not currently open for registration.
Prerequisites: ERCOT Nodal 101
Note: Attendees are required to take the above prerequisite course. The Basic Training Program course will be taught assuming that the student possesses a thorough understanding of the information covered in the prerequisite course listed above prior to attending.

All attendees are highly encouraged to attend all four training days. The end-of-course examination will be administered on line via ERCOT's Learning Management System.
This basic course is designed to provide key information for all market participants engaged in any activity with ERCOT markets, transmission operations, and dispatch including utility executives, directors, managers, schedulers, coordinators, dispatchers, controllers, planning engineers, operations engineers, EMS - AGC engineers, engineering technicians, analysts, traders, accountants, IT support staff and others.

Basic Training Program (Activity ID: ERCOT_NT_154_BTP) is recognized by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation as an approved learning activity for which NERC CE hours can be awarded, and that the provider adheres to NERC Continuing Education Program criteria.
If you are a NERC certificate holder, and you meet Nodal Training's completion criteria for this course, you will be awarded 31.0 CE hours in the category of Operating Topics. Upon completion, you will receive notification of CE Hour credit within 30 calendar days.
If continuing education hours for this course are desired for a program other than NERC, the individual attendee may submit the required documentation to the appropriate entity to gain approval for the hours. If additional documentation is needed for the application process, a request for the information may be submitted by emailing NodalTraining@ERCOT.com.
